  15. Wimbledon  PDAce '02  is  designed  for  the  Palm  Computing  Platform. 
  16. 'pdace.prc'  should  be installed  into your handheld  device  using the  
  17. instructions provided by the manufacturer.  The appropriate display mode 
  18. (black and white, greyscale or colour) will be used when the application 
  19. is started.

  41. HOW TO INSTALL:

  44. Double clicking the 'pdace.prc' file will extract the  appropriate files 
  45. and transfer them into your  sync folder.  The game will  upload on your 
  46. next sync.

  48. HOW TO PLAY:
  49. ============

  51. Start  Wimbledon  PDAce '02 by  tapping on the  application  icon in the 
  52. application launcher.  After a short  while, you will be  presented with 
  53. the main PDAce '02 screen.  You may  select the 'Play' 'Beam' or 'Setup' 
  54. to play, beam to a friend, or setup any configuration options.

  65. Game Rules

  67. Five rounds.  One set per round. First to win six games wins  the round.
  68. Final round has three sets. No tie-breaks.

  70. Controls
  71. ========
  72. Click outer buttons on Palm to serve ball. The player has the ability to 
  73. move:

  75. UP/DOWN      Up or down
  76. Calendar  Serve ball
  77. Phonebook Move left (Move racket direction left)
  78. Task      Move right (Move racket direction right)
  79. Notes     Serve ball

  81. The option to move with the stylus is also available.

  83. Game Functionality

  86. * When a player is serving, they are loaded to an appropriate point near 
  87.   the T of the baseline.  The opponent is placed  behind  their baseline 
  88.   and the appropriate service box.
  89.  
  90. * To serve, press and hold the serve button.  Release when the power bar 
  91.   hits the  power zone.  To receive serve,  press and  release the serve 
  92.   button.
  93.  
  94. * The opponent cannot move up into the service box before  returning the 
  95.   serve to prevent service faults.

  97. * Except  during service,  the ball  bounces off the bat,  as opposed to 
  98.   being hit with a button.
  99.  
  100. * Unlike tennis, the ball will bounce off the sidewalls.
  101.  
  102. * The ball  always  bounces on  screen  if  left  to  its  natural  path 
  103.   (although it can be volleyed).
  104.  
  105. * The ball bounces from the bat and from the vertical edges of the court 
  106.   (as the court appears on screen).

  108. * Players can only hit the ball out of play behind the baseline.
  109.  
  110. * At  the end of each match,  Player Statistics are provided to  analyse 
  111.   and improve player performance.

  113. * All  players start in the  first round  (except from a saved game) and 
  114.   make their way to the Final.

  116. * Winning a match allows you to save a game.

  118. * Choosing another application pauses the game.

  120. HINT: Players can influence the direction and speed of a return with the 
  121.       momentum of their bat.

  123. Point Scoring
  124. =============

  126. * The score is shown in a small format on the game screen and is updated 
  127.   when the player positions are reset for serving.

  129. * The game and running scores are shown at the end of each game.

  131. * The  player is  shown the  scores and a result message at the end of a 
  132.   match. This only happens after the player has completed a whole match.

  134. * At  the end of a match,  you can  save the  game with a  single stylus 
  135.   action or proceed to the next level.

  137. Lose/Replay
  138. ===========
  139. * When a game is lost, you are invited to play again. This will take you 
  140.   to the start of the previous level.
