  1. Subject:  Welcome to the SDF MOTD membership

  3. GETTING STARTED WITH MOTD
  4. -------------------------

  6. The motd.org membership is a collaborative hosting membership designed 
  7. for UNIX savvy, webloggers, wikiadmins, forum admins and the like.
  8.  
  9. All software packages are peer reviewed to be secure and 'multi-user
  10. environmentally friend'.  You can help by getting involved if you'd
  11. like, or you can just sit back and enjoy the benefits.  The choice
  12. is completely yours.

  14. To see what packages are available, type 'motd -l' at the shell.  You can
  15. install these packages for your own use in your URL by running the 
  16. install scripts in /sys/motd.  Each package has its own install script.  
  17.  
  18. For example to install and configure wordpress:

  20. $ motd -i wordpress
  21.  
  22. You will be asked a few questions and the software package will be
  23. installed and read for you to administer to from your motd.org URL.
