COMMENT:A wonderful book to give someone who is curious about skepticism. There is little in Sagan's last book which is new to a well-informed skeptic; its point is not arguing against specific claims, but rather defending "the marriage of skepticism and wonder" which is the scientific attitude. He most often uses UFO abduction claims as his example of a paranormal belief which has no good evidence for it, yet must be investigated sympathetically. Sagan's informal writing and clear presentation of his love for science and skepticism is more effective than any polemical or technical approach.
