COMMENT:A sober and serious overview and defense of parapsychological research. While the authors generally believe there is something to psychic powers, they are careful not to make too extravagant a set of claims, and occasionally judge evidence to be insufficient, or perhaps pointing to non-psychic explanations. Some parts are more flawed than others, as in the sections linking parapsychology to a Kuhnian paradigm shift, while ignoring the relativistic implications of the early Kuhnian account which count against psychical research as well as conventional science. But overall, this book is well worth attention, particularly by critics of parapsychology.
