COMMENT:Well-written, fairly current defense of psychic powers by two prominent and careful researchers. Unfortunately, they drown the possibly interesting material in some remarkably bad arguments and gratuitous skeptic-bashing that does not address substantial objections. They cannot even dismiss Uri Geller, saying he augments his PK by sleight-of-hand, conceding only that the media circus around him makes good evidence impossible to obtain. Then they produce good evidence, which turns out to include John Hasted's pathetic metal-bending experiments. The book does not even mention their retraction. Overall, it reinforces doubts about whether parapsychology is a real science.
