COMMENT:Hall proposes some skeptical solutions to mysteries surrounding the famous physical medium Daniel Home. Some concern his life, like his supposed noble ancestry, or the "mystery of iniquity" which got him in hot water. Others include how he produced his phenomena, including the levitation which psychical researchers still are impressed with. The most detailed and historically interesting part of the book is Hall's examination of the story behind the privately published rare book, <cite>Experiences in Spiritualism with Mr. D.D. Home</cite>. Mainly for readers with an interest in and some familiarity with 19th century physical mediumship.
