COMMENT:An examination of psychological processes that are linked to magical thinking and beliefs. It discusses perception, divided consciousness, memory, psychopathology and other skepticism-related psychological topics. The authors take a strictly naturalistic point of view, arguing that anomalous psychology is the proper framework in which to consider psi and other apparently magical beliefs. Its textbook flavor and uncompromising attitude towards paranormal ideas sometimes convey an impression of rigidity, but the book contains a wealth of information that adds up to a powerful critique of paranormal beliefs.
