††SellotapeÆ is the trade name for a sticky transparent cellulose or plastic tape. Tape of this kind was first developed by Richard G. Drew in the United States in 1928, when it was known as Scotch tape. In the United Kingdom, SellotapeÆ dates back to 1937 when Colin Kininmonth and George Gray coated cellophane film with a natural rubber resin, and registered the name SellotapeÆ. Today, SellotapeÆ is the only environmentally friendly, biodegradable sticky tape on the market. It is made at two factory sites in England, and one each in Switzerland and New Zealand. SellotapeÆ is now sold in 119 countries and if all the rolls of SellotapeÆ sold in one year were joined together they would reach the moon and back.
