By moving the cars past the workers on a conveyor belt, he managed to cut the assembly time from 12.5 to 1.5 hours. By 1925 a new Model T was finished every fifteen seconds. This method paved the way for many other products to be made with greater efficiency. On modern car assembly lines, human workers now stand side by side with robots in an attempt to increase efficiency and reduce costs still further.
