  1. ††††Cellophane is a transparent wrapping film made from wood cellulose.
  2. It was invented by J. Brandenberger of Switzerland in 1912.  
  3. Wrapping film has many everyday uses, such as covering food. Cellophane is also made into a form of sticky tape, now known by its brand name of Scotch tape. This was invented by Richard Drew in 1927.
