  1. Here are more MIDI Synth songs taken from archives that were uploaded 
  2. to the Internet news group alt.binaries.sounds.music last fall.

  21. Be sure to include the required instrument (.BNK) and associated
  22. waveform (.WAV) files in the directory with the sequence files,
  23. if required by your sequence player. I used Combo.bnk on the first and
  24. last movements because they required instruments that released their notes
  25. quickly. Feel free to experiment with a different sound!

  44. Mozart composed this serenade for a special festive event at Vienna on August
  45. 10,1787. The composition is for strings only. The movements are:
  46. 1. Allegro
  47. 2. Romanze
  48. 3. Menuetto
  49. 4. Rondo
  50.  
  51. The first two movements were uploaded previously as Allegro.wrk & Romanze.wrk.
  52. These movements have not been changed from the uploaded version except for the
  53. following minor modifications:
  54. 1. In the original version all four instruments were assigned to the same MIDI
  55. channel (1). Now, each instrument has its own channel:
  56. Violin 1    - Channel 9
  57. Violin 2    - Channel 10
  58. Viola       - Channel 11
  59. Violincello - Channel 12
  60.  
  61. Of course you may change these settings to suit your set-up using Cakewalk's
  62. Forced Channel feature (Ch).

  64. 2. Since uploading the first two mvts., I have altered my strings patch to make
  65. the attack faster (more below). When playing these movements using the new
  66. patch, the sound was very harsh. Therefore, using the Velocity offset feature
  67. of Cakewalk, I have toned down the Vel. level of Mvts. 1 & 2. Since Cakewalk
  68. doesn't change the actual recorded Vel levels, those using the MIDIfile format
  69. might want to adjust the Vel level manually as follows:
  70. Movement 1- Allegro
  71. Violin 1     - (-7)
  72. Violin 2     - (-17)
  73. Viola        - (-17)
  74. Violincello  - (-17)

  77. Violin 1     - (-5)

  82.     In my Cakewalk setup, I use a timebase of 192ppq; try not to use a lower
  83. setting if at all possible.

  85.     As stated earlier, the original M-1 strings patch was modified to make it
  86. "faster". Those changes are as follows:

  96.     I've tried to make a good sequence and I believe I have succeeded here.
