  25.         PWCHECK is a password checker PEX for Proboard 2.0x. It
  26.     will check the users password for length (minimum 5
  27.     characters) and number of consecutive characters from both
  28.     alias and name (no more than 3 consecutive characters).

  35.         More than few times I've gone thru my user list and found
  36.         passwords that were only 4 letters long or had half their
  37.         name or alias in it.
  38.         Having messed up my setup by allowing 4 letter passwords, I threw
  39.         in the length check for good measure so I could change it without
  40.         messing up anything.
  41.         This PEX will take care of that by doing a check and then
  42.         sending them straight to a password change if their password
  43.         doesn't meet the guidelines.

  51.         I have PWCHECK installed as a WELCOMEx.PEX so that everyone
  52.         is automatically checked when they log-on. This ensures that
  53.         the security level is maintained.

  61.         Well...I was toying with asking $5 for it...but it was just
  62.         too hard...this was my first foray into programming in a
  63.         useful way and I must admit it was just fun to do.
  64.         I've taught myself to program in C and, with the excellent
  65.         foresight of Phillippe Leybaert to incorporate a C based
  66.         development kit for Proboard, I've managed to put this
  67.         knowledge to good use.

  70.         resist sending money to this hard-working, self-taught,
  71.         struggling programmer (did I mention thirsty?) so he can get
