  18.      Not everyone follows the obvious rules of always identifying Switzerland
  19.      as Switzerland or using the U.S. postal codes for states.  Instead there
  20.      are many ways of spelling place names.  When importing GEDCOM files from
  21.      other sources, or even when several individuals are entering data in one
  22.      PAF  database,  identifying these differences and correcting them one by
  23.      one  can  be  tedious  and time consuming.  There is also the problem of
  24.      names  typed in with all uppercase letters and correct capitalization of
  25.      some  last  names  such  as those beginning with Mc or Mac.  NE4PAF is a
  26.      utility to help you make these kinds of corrections.

  28.      NE4PAF  will  allow  you  to  edit the name file (NAME2.DAT) of Personal
  29.      Ancestral  File (tm), version 2.2.  It will also automatically place all
  30.      names in lowercase letters except for the first letter of the name while
  31.      also  capitalizing  the  first letter to follow Mc, Mac, a space, or the
  32.      characters: (, ), [, ], the question mark or the comma.

  34.      When individual names are changed, all related changes to the individual
  35.      (INDIV2.DAT) or marriage (MARR2.DAT) files are performed.  NE4PAF allows
  36.      a   user  specified  dictionary  and  prefix  control  file  to  control
  37.      non-standard capitalization.

  39.      640K standard memory should support a name file of about 8600 names. EMS
  40.      memory now supported if you have any.  Also supports a mouse starting in
  41.      version 7.0.
