  6. INTRODUCTION
  7.  
  8. This diskette or archive file contains the necessary files
  9. to update your copy of Lode Runner-Windows to version 1.3.  This
  10. update corrects several problems and enhances the overall play of Loderunner.
  11.  
  12. THIS UPDATE IS FOR THE WINDOWS VERSION ONLY!  DO NOT USE THIS UPDATE FOR 
  13. THE MS-DOS VERSION OF LODERUNNER!
  14.  
  15. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
  16.  
  17. In Windows, from the Program Manager: 
  18.  
  19. 1.)    Choose RUN from the FILE pull down menu.  
  20. 2.)    Click on the "Browse..." button.
  21. 3.)    Move to the drive and directory of the patch.  
  22. 4.)    Select the file named "PATCHER.EXE" in the File Name window 
  23.     to the left.
  24. 5.)    When PATCHER.EXE appears in the COMMAND LINE window, click 
  25.      on OK.
  26. 6.)    Confirm the path to where LodeRunner is installed on your 
  27.      computer.  Click on CONTINUE.
  28. 7.)    Next, confirm the path to the patch disk or patch files.  
  29.      Click on CONTINUE.
  30. 8.)    After the patch is installed, choose OK to return to Windows.

  32. NOTE:  If you encounter a  "System Error Cannot  Read  From  Drive X" 
  33.        (where X is  the drive letter of your CD ROM) error message while 
  34.        applying the  patch, put a  computer CD in  your CD ROM drive and 
  35.        choose RETRY.

  37. WHAT THIS UPDATE (V. 1.3) DOES:
  38.  
  39. 1.     Provides faster engine logic for the game.
  40.  
  41. 2.     Adds the high scores list.
  42.  
  43. 3.     CD optimizations were worked into this version.
  44.  
  45. 4.     Corrects "Divide by Zero" error some computers encounter after the 
  46.     Windows joystick drivers are installed.
  47.  
  48. 5.    Corrects GPF error messages encountered when restoring games.
  49.  
  50. 6.    In two player mode, some users have had the Bunglers freeze.  This 
  51.             has been corrected.
  52.  
  53. 7.    Pauses in animation when the music loops is also corrected with this 
  54.     patch.
  55.  
  56. 8.    Corrects save game problems with version 1.02 patch.
