|15Zooming in (and out)
|15Using the mouse to zoom in:
|07Using the mouse to zoom in on a picture is very simple. With the image
on the screen work out the area you wish to zoom in on. (If the image on
screen is not completed it doesn't matter as the image is recalculated and
an unfinished region will still be zoomed in on and completed.) Move the
mouse cursor to the top left corner of the area you wish to zoom into. Press
and hold the |15left mouse button|07 and drag the box down to the bottom right
corner of the area you wish to zoom in on. Release the |15left mouse button|07
when the box highlight is over the correct area. The calculation of the new
image will start immediately.
|15Using the keyboard to zoom in:
|07If you load Fractals Plus v2.10 without a mouse driver loaded you will
be able to control the program using the keyboard. Pressing any of the cursor
keys will activate a cross hair cursor. You can move this around using the
cursor keys. To zoom in you use the same procedure as when using the mouse;
move the cross hair cursor to the top left of the area you wish to zoom in
on and press |15[Enter]|07. The cross hair cursor will disappear and the zoom
box will appear. Move the bottom right corner of the zoom box to the bottom
right corner of the area you wish to zoom in on using the cursor keys.
Press |15[Enter]|07 again and the calculation of the new image will start
immediately.
|15Zooming Out:
|07To zoom out you must click on the menu option to zoom out. This is the
second icon down on the left side of the main menu. Clicking on this icon
(please see the help on menus to see how to do this with a keyboard) will
cause a new image to be plotted. The new image will be one with twice the
distance along each side and the old image in the centre of the screen.
Again it does not matter if the old image is incomplete as it will be
recalculated.
It is not possible to zoom out to a range larger than 4.00 and attempting
to do so will result in an error beep.
|15Plotting Julia sets:
|07Julia sets can be obtained for any point in the Mandelbrot set. To do so
simply press the |15right mouse button|07 while the mouse is at the point.
For those of you using the keyboard, move the crosshair to the desired
location and press |15[Space]|07.
