If I remember correctly, it says to pump a mild bleach solution through the
filter (few drops of bleach in a cup of water?), then pump in the air to
drain excess water and store it away. The insides are to remain
moist - don't dry it out.
When it's time to use it again, run a few cups of fresh water through. The
first few cups will be kind of musty, then it will run normally.
