  3. 1. REGISTRATION

  5. FILENOTE is distributed using the shareware "TRY BEFORE YOU BUY" philosophy. 
  6. It is the ultimate money back guarantee. If you don't like don't buy it, 
  7. simple as that.

  9. If you decide that you would like to make FILENOTE a permanent part of your
  10. software library, please fill out the registration form contained in the file 
  11. FNREGSTR.DOC and mail it along with your check for $30 (plus applicable
  12. Shipping and Handling). In return for your registration, you will receive:

  14. 1. Printed and bound manual. 
  15. 2. Most recent program disk.
  16. 3. Unlimited phone support.
  17. 4. Join CompuServe and receive signup discounts along with a $15 usage 
  18.    credit. This offer alone covers more than half of the cost of FILENOTE.
  19. 5. Personal upgrade notification.
  20. 6. 67% off FILENOTE for DOS upgrades. 
  21. 7. Last, but not least, you get the satisfaction of knowing you are 
  22.    supporting Shareware and have purchased a product from an author 
  23.    that is very receptive to suggestions and ideas for improvements to

  26. When FILENOTE has been installed, the registration form FNREGSTR.DOC is 
  27. sent to your printer. To register, fill out the form and send it to
  28. Basic Solutions.

  30. FNREGSTR.DOC can also be printed using the DOS Print command from the DOS
  31. prompt. The DOS prompt looks generally like:   C:\>
  32.  
  33. You must first be in the directory where FILENOTE exists before 
  34. printing the form. Let's assume that you installed FILENOTE in the
  35. directory C:\FILENOTE. Follow these steps.
  36.  
  37.   1. At the DOS prompt type C: then press ENTER. This will put you 
  38.      on the C Drive.
  39.   2. Type CD\FILENOTE then press ENTER. This will put you in the
  40.      FILENOTE directory.
  41.   3. Type PRINT FNREGSTR.DOC then press ENTER
  42.      You may see something like:     Name of List Device [PRN]:
  43.      You are being asked what Port the output is to go to.
  44.      You can probably just press ENTER and FNREGSTR.DOC will be
  45.      printed.

  47. When you fill out this form, please PRINT clearly. If I can't read
  48. your writing I will not be able to register you.

  50. FNREGSTR.DOC is simply a text file. You can also fill it out by 
  51. loading it into any editor and completing the questions.

  53. Mail this form to BASIC SOLUTIONS along with your check and you
  54. will receive a disk and printed manual.

  82. This is the first release of FILENOTE. FILENOTE has undergone much testing.
  83. However, testing NEVER finds all problems. If you come across a problem 
  84. please call Basic Solutions at 916-965-1492 and ask for Jeff Harris. If I am
  85. unavailable, PLEASE leave a message and I will return your call. I am
  86. generally there to take calls between 3:30 and 6:00 pm Pacific Time on
  87. weekdays. Take your chance on weekends.

  103. The FILENOTE files were compressed using LHARC. As required by the program's
  104. License Agreement, LHARC is also distributed with FILENOTE. It is 
  105. compressed in the file LHA213.EXE. Move this file to another directory and
  106. type:
  107.    
  108.         LHA213 (then press enter)
  109.  
  110. You now have your own archiving program.

  113. 3. PRINTER DRIVERS - 
  114.    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  115. FILENOTE comes with printer drivers for several prominent printers. If none
  116. of the drivers supplied with FILENOTE work for your printer, you can get
  117. additional drivers by downloading the file FN100P.ZIP from IBMSYS forum
  118. Library 6 on CompuServe. Alternately, you may call Basic Solutions at 
  119. 916-965-1492 for a copy of the printer driver disk.
