1. INSTALLING FROM A DISKETTE -
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The easiest way to install FILENOTE is to use the INSTALL program.
INSTALL will allow you to specify a directory that you want FILENOTE
installed to, copy the files to that directory, uncompress the
compressed files and run FILENOTE, which finalizes the installation.
To use INSTALL, simply type:
A:\INSTALL (then press Enter)
If the FILENOTE disk is in drive B then substitute B for A.
ALTERNATE DISKETTE INSTALLATION
FN2.EXE (then press Enter)
When FILENOTE executed it created a file called FN.BAT. To get
full use from this file, see FN.BAT in the users manual.
2. INSTALLING FROM BBS DOWNLOAD -
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A. Unzip the file in the directory where you want FILENOTE located.
B. You can then use INSTALL to install FILENOTE to a different

3. POSSIBLE CONFIG.SYS FILE CHANGES -
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Your CONFIG.SYS file MUST have a
FILES=20
statement in it. Files must equal at least 20. INSTALL will check
to see if there is a FILES= statement and what files is equal to.
If it is less than 20 then INSTALL will ask you if you want it to
be changed. It will also ask you what drive your computer boots from.
Most likely the answer is C.
If you do not use INSTALL make sure that you have a FILES=20
statement in the CONFIG.SYS file or the first time you run FILENOTE
you will receive an error.
Make sure you read the file FNREADME.2ND. This file is automatically
printed to the screen when you use INSTALL.
4. REGISTRATION -
~~~~~~~~~~~~
When FILENOTE is installed using INSTALL, the registration form is
sent to your printer.
