VEHICLE: Columbia/OV-102
LOCATION: OPF bay 1
NOTE: Columbia is in OPF bay 1 where work continues in preparation for transfer
to Palmdale, Calif., for the scheduled orbiter maintenance down period (OMDP).
The target period for transfer of Columbia to the west coast remains set for
mid October. When Columbia returns to KSC early next year, processing will
begin for mission STS-73 scheduled for launch in late summer 1995. Today, the
payload bay doors are closed for the structural checks on the vehicle. Work
next week includes removing the orbiters three main engines and the forward
reaction control system.
