% August 18 set as launch date for STS-68;
% Ohio Aerospace Institute Chief Scientist named.
With launch officially slated for August 18, technicians at the Kennedy Space
Center continue preparing Space Shuttle Endeavour for its upcoming mission.
Liftoff is planned for 6:54 a.m. EDT. Endeavour's STS-68 mission is targeted
for 10 days with landing planned for August 28, 1994.
Endeavour's primary payload is the Space Radar Laboratory. The Space Radar
Laboratory is part of NASA's Mission to Planet Earth program which is a
comprehensive effort to understand how the Earth's environment is changing.

Dr. J. Stuart Fordyce has been appointed Chief Scientist at the Ohio Aerospace
Institute in Cleveland. Fordyce was previously the Deputy Director of NASA's
Lewis Research Center.
In his new capacity, Fordyce will work to develop opportunities for
collaborative research projects, technology transfer initiatives and
educational programs.
Fordyce's new position is effective September 18.
