  2.                   Using Zoom/modems with Dialer programs

  4.      The  lower  end  Zoom/modems and the LC (Low Current)  modems  do  not
  5. switch the 'phone' jack out when dialing. You will hear the entire  process
  6. if you have the phone off hook.
  7.  
  8.      The  other  (V-series)  Zoom/modems  switch out  the  2nd  jack  while
  9. dialing. When you press the key to hang up the modem, the 'phone' jack will
  10. be switched in so you can talk on the phone.

  12.      In  both cases, just hang up the phone when you are done. They  should
  13. be setup as Hayes compatible Smartmodem in the dialer programs. If there is
  14. choice,  but  you can put in a string, try AT&F&C1&D2  (&D2  is  important,
  15. controls modem hang-up). The hangup string is ATH or ATH0. Normally this is
  16. done    ~~~+++~~~ATH0   (pause ESC pause Hangup).

  18.      You  can also put ,,;ATH  at the end of the phone number.  This  tells
  19. the  modem to dial, wait 4 seconds, return to command mode and hang up  the
  20. line. You must pick up the phone before the modem hangs up.
  21. example    423-1076,,;ATH    for longer wait add a , for each 2 seconds.
