  2.      By default AA (AutoAnswer) is OFF (ATS0=0). To turn AA on, ATS0=1.  To

  4. set and SAVE,  ATS0=1&W.  If it has 'stuck' in AA then ATS0=0&W will  reset

  6. to  not answer, and save it. For a PC usually AT&C1&D2 should also be  set.

  8. For a MAC,  &C0 or &C1 seems OK, but for AA it must be &D0 (not &D2).

  10.      Some  software sends ATA to the modem to tell it to answer,  when  the

  12. modem sends 'RING' to the software. If the software does this, then  ATS0=0

  14. is correct.

  16.      When  the AA LED is off (autoanswer off), it should blink ON for  each

  18. ring,  then  type  ATA  and  the modem will answer.  When  the  LED  is  ON
  19.  
  20. (autoanswer ON), it should blink OFF for each ring, then it will answer  on
  21.  
  22. the set number of rings.
