  10. So much beach here.
  11. Spreading its legs,
  12. opened its thighs
  13. to the lake. She
  14. lifted her skirt
  15. and let the ice floes
  16. dig, clutch, maul
  17. trace their gigantic fingers on her thighs,
  18.  
  19. Come spring the blue hem of the lake's skirt
  20. will once again cover the scars on 
  21. her thighs, swallow the driftwood and broken 
  22. glass. 
  23.  
  24. It has been a cold winter.
  25. On this last day,
  26. snow like wisps of Ariadne's web
  27. tumble like disturbing memories
  28. over the hard packed
  29. beach.
