  5.                   NEVADA ANNIE'S CHAMPION CHILI

  8. 3       medium onions
  9. 2       medium green peppers
  10. 2       large stalks celery
  11. 2       cloves garlic
  12. 1       small Jalapeno pepper, fresh, seeded & diced
  13. 8 lb    lean chuck, coarsely ground
  14. 7 oz    diced green chiles
  15. 28 oz   stewed tomatoes
  16. 15 oz   tomato sauce
  17. 6 oz    tomato paste
  18. 6 oz    chili powder
  19. 2 T     cumin
  20.         Tabasco sauce to taste
  21. 12 oz   beer, divided into two portions
  22. 12 oz   mineral water
  23. 3       bay leaves
  24.         garlic, salt and pepper to taste
  25.  
  26. Dice and saute the first five ingredients.  Add the meat and brown
  27. it.
  28.  
  29. Add the remaining ingredients, including half the beer (Annie sez to
  30. drink the remainder!).  Add water just to cover the top of the
  31. mixture.

  33. Cook about 3 hours on low heat, stirring often.
