  19.         MSG2PAF is a PAF utility designed to extract genealogical data
  20.         from ASCII text files and 1) place them directly into a PAF Family
  21.         Records Data Base or 2) create a GEDCOM in format 2.1/2.2 to be
  22.         input to PAF or to other genealogical database software with
  23.         GEDCOM capability.  Input can be any ASCII text that contains data
  24.         that is desirable to input to a genealogical database.  The
  25.         program assists the genealogist in easily transferring information
  26.         which they choose from the input file.

  28.         MSG2PAF accepts inputs for name, dates of birth, christening,
  29.         death, burial, places of birth and death, title, sex, and five
  30.         note lines of 78 characters each.  It inputs these directly into
  31.         the PAF Family Records files as single, unattached individuals. 
  32.         Individual records are added to the end of the INDIV2.DAT file. 
  33.         New names  are added in the proper position in the name tree. 
  34.         Notes are added to the end of the NOTES file.  These individual
  35.         records must be connected to their family groups from within PAF.

  37.         It is recommended that MSG2PAF be used to import data into a
  38.         separate PAF Family Records Data Base rather than directly into
  39.         your primary data.  These records can then be viewed and edited as
  40.         desired.  After satisfied with the record, it can then be moved
  41.         into the PAF database either with GIE or with PAF2PAF which
  42.         transfers single records from one PAF database to another.
