  18.         HotNotes is a tool to help you enter FR notes, which conform to
  19.         the Silicon Valley PAF Users Group Documentation Guidelines.  A
  20.         copy of these guidelines is included with HotNotes.  HotNotes was
  21.         created with two goals in mind: (1) help the PAF user be
  22.         encouraged to use the documentation standards and (2) help
  23.         eliminate computer busy-work!  Two benefits of HotNotes are: it
  24.         provides an easy way to use standard TAG names, and  it prevents
  25.         re-typing commonly used information.

  27.         HotNotes was intended to help cure one wide-spread malady
  28.         afflicting FR Notes documenters: "chronic-re-type syndrome"  Many
  29.         PAF users have an aversion to typing let alone typing the same
  30.         thing over and over again.  Computers should do the work for us,
  31.         not us for them.  HotNotes allows TAGS and Sources to be reused,
  32.         over and over again, without re-typing.  HotNotes was designed to
  33.         reduce this burden.

  35.         TAGS provide a flexible, extensible, uniform way for people to
  36.         share documentation information.  Appendix G of the PAF 2.2
  37.         Reference Manual provided the concept. Most people will not go to
  38.         the effort of inserting TAGS or other source information unless it
  39.         is convenient.  HotNotes make it easy to enter TAGS and SOURCES.

  41.         HotNotes installs as a Terminate and Stay Resident application
  42.         (similar to Borland's SuperKeyTM program.) This technology was
  43.         employed so that HotNotes would always be there for you, without
  44.         leaving FR.  Your notes stay in the FR file formats, so Focus and
  45.         all Ancestral file submissions include your note editing.
