  19.         The GENE-PAF program may be used to select/sort/display/output PAF
  20.         data.  The results of your selection and sort can be directed to
  21.         the monitor, a printer, an ASCII file for later editting and
  22.         printing, or to a CSV (comma separated field file) for input input
  23.         a database or spreadsheet program.  Some GENE-PAF routines will
  24.         allow the user to output notes for individuals from the PAF files. 
  25.         Following are some of the routines provided:

  27.         Anhentafel: This routine creates an Ahnentafel beginning with the
  28.            name for the Record  Identification Number (RIN) you input.
  29.         Children: This routine finds and lists the children and
  30.            grandchildren of an individual.
  31.         Roots: Use this routine to find father roots or mother roots or
  32.            make picture labels.
  33.         Identify: This is a routine to identify commonality of records. 
  34.            You may find individuals in the PAF data that have common names
  35.            or birthdates.
  36.         Format outputs: Routine is used to set the formats for other
  37.            routines. i.e. Surname First or Last; RIN turned ON/OFF, etc.
  38.         Select/Sort: Use this routine to select PAF data with certain
  39.            characteristics (i.e. male only, living, etc.), to determine
  40.            the order of fields of data and to set the fields on which the
  41.            data will be sorted
  42.         Notes: This selection will cause notes on individuals to be
  43.            printed after  the name data is output.  You are directed to a
  44.            menu where you choose selection of ALL notes or only those with
  45.            special tags. If your PAF notes data is stored with special
  46.            tags (such as !, #, %, ADDR:, PHON:, etc.) then you may use
  47.            this feature to print only those notes with your special tags.
