  19.         The GEDCOM library was developed by the Family History Department
  20.         of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  It is made
  21.         available as freeware as a tool to help genealogy software
  22.         developers.  Larry Maddocks, who uploaded the copy of GEDLIB which
  23.         the compiler of this document reviewed, helped write parts of the
  24.         GEDCOM library, including a GEDCOM file parser and a record
  25.         storage tool.

  27.         There are two compiled copies of the GEDCOM library.  One file is
  28.         called GED_BC.LIB, which was compiled under Borland C++ version
  29.         3.0.  The other is called GED.LIB, which was compiled under
  30.         Microsoft 6.0.  The source files are included if you wish to
  31.         compile your own library.
