INGREDIENTS ------------------------------------------------------------
2 cup Apples - cooking - chopped
3/4 cup Sugar
2 Tbsp Flour
1 cup Freshly soured cream
1 ea Beaten egg
1/2 tsp Vanilla
1/8 tsp Salt
DIRECTIONS ------------------------------------------------------------
Chop apples fine, mix sugar and flour, add cream, beaten egg, vanilla
and salt, and beat until smooth. Add chopped apples and mix. Pour into
pastry lined pan, bake 15 minutes in hot oven 450 F., reduce heat to
325 F. and continue to bake until pie is somewhat firm in center.
Remove from oven and cover with the following crumb mixture.
Crumb Mixture:
1/2 c. sugar
1/3 c. flour
1 t. cinnamon
1/4 c. butter
Work to crumbly mass and spread over pie. Return to oven and bake for
about 10 minutes.
