A professional photographer for almost 20 years, Chalk has fully embraced computer imaging. He approaches digital creating as a set designer and stage director who intimately controls not only the cast and lighting, but also the physics of the stage/world. Originally working with Alias Sketch 3D software and Adobe Photshop on the Mac platform he has recently moved on to a Sillicon Graphics workstation and primarily uses Alias Power Animator modeling and animation software as well as Alias Eclipse. Exploring trompe l'oiel imagery that is nearly pure digital creation, he both emulates and subverts photographic realities of scale, perspective and matter.
