  9. I am glad you have decided to try Windows Mail Manager (WMM). 
  10. I hope you will like it, and register it. You will find registration
  11. form in help file. In the second half of this file you will find
  12. instructions for installing and upgrading the program. Remember, if
  13. you do not have VBRUN200.DLL on your hard disk, you will need one.

  15. WMM is Windows mail reader (QWK packets) with folowing features:
  16. - message base - WMM stores messages in a base, so you can read them or
  17.                  reply to them later; there is one base for each BBS
  18. - windows help file - gives you context sensitive help
  19. - almost everything can be done with keyboard and mouse, as well
  20. - deletes duplicates - WMM can search for duplicated messages in 
  21.                        message base and mark them to be deleted
  22. - address list - you connect a person with a conference and his fidonet
  23.                  address, and that you can select him from list box, when
  24.                  writing a reply
  25. - carbon copies - you can post message, you wrote, to other addresses
  26. - forwarding - WMM allows you to put a message someone else has written
  27.                to another conference (to notify readers of that conference)
  28. - user-selected editor - simple editor, which will arrange lines if too long
  29. - auto heading & ending of replies - you can write the text that appears 
  30.           on the begining or at the end of each reply, forwarded message
  31. - adds fidonet addresses to replies - you select in which conferences and
  32.                   how to put fidonet address, which WMM tnah obtains from
  33.                   message you are replying to
  34. - library - you can add special messages to a library and add keywords 
  35.             to them, so you can easily find them later
  36. - twit filter - you can make a list of disliked persons and WMM will
  37.                 spare you from their messages
  38. - printing, saving to a file and copying message to clipboard
  39. - WMM can be translated to any language, supported by Windows - see help
  40. - user definable colors - different colors for different kind of messages 
  41. - and others, you'll find out yourself

  43. There is also WMM Tools, to help you convert WMM message base
  44. back to QWK packet, and Papirus, a small editor, which keeps lines
  45. under 72 chars limit.

  67. NOTE: language files are AN EXAMPLE, you do not need them in order
  68. to have english WMM. That is why they are named .LNE, .LE1 etc. and not
  69. .LNG, .LN1 etc. as it is required for proper action.

  73. If you do not have VBRUN200.DLL, you will need one. You should  
  74. find it on the nearest BBS. Put it in the same directory as files
  75. listed above. If there is already vbrun200.dll in your windows directory, 
  76. you don't need one.

  78. Run setup.exe from Windows. Setup will copy files marked with * to 
  79. selected directory and (unless one is already there) VBRUN200.DLL to 
  80. windows directory. It will also create WMM group in Program Manager.

  82. Then run WMM and set options in Options|General and Options|Replies,
  83. BEFORE doing anything else. Survival Guide topic of help will help you 
  84. with your first steps.

  88. Install new version in the directory, which contains old version of WMM.
  89. WMM.INI file will not be deleted. If you want to preserve the tagline
  90. file, rename it, it should not be TAGLINE.TXT (TAGLINE.TXT will be
  91. copied to disk when installing). When you run WMM, go to Options|General
  92. and Options|Replies and set new options. You HAVE TO go to both menus
  93. and press OK button in both windows, because some changes have to be done!!
