OCR: CyberMan 3D Controller from Logitech Logitech's new 3D Controller, the CyberMan, claims to be the most advanced way to master 3D games . After putting over 100 hours on this controller, I have to disagree . The CyberMan resembles a stream- lined mouse on a stick. It actually looks very cool, and for the first hour or so, it is very cool. The prob- lems start to apprear after using the CyberMan for several hours on end. Our biggest complaint about the Cyber- Man is that there is nowhere to rest your arm while using it . To get the best control, you have to hold you arm up off the table . After just an hour your arm will get very tired. Or, you can rest your arm on the table, but this puts your wrist in a wierd position and causes your wrist to tire. If you are prone to mouse elbow or wrist, you will not like the CyberMan. Our other major complaint is the fact that the CyberMan uses your mouse port . We were hoping for a joystick interface . Although the CyberMan works well on many games, it is very hard to use it in Windows or and other mouse based program . We were constantly changing back and forth from our mouse to the CyberMan . You might be able to make due with a mouse switch-box. The CyberMan isn't all bad though . We were impressed with the amount of control we were able to acquire in 3D games like Doom and Wolfenstein. It takes a while to learn how to control the CyberMan, but we were able to do much better after a few hours of practice. The other really cool function was the vibrating handle. In games like Doom, when you get shot, the impact is transferred to your orward Menu Back Exit
