The designers recommend a game pad for the game, which is what I ended up using. The combat is somewhat complicated on certain mechs, but simple with others. How well you do in combat has alot to do with the armor you take. The armor with more moves is very useful in combat, but hard to get a handle on. The mechs that do not have as many moves are easier to learn, but suffer against the more maneuverable armors. The player must decide at the beginning what type of to buy.
