Net-Trak News! Last updated on 04/23/97! Sorry to say so, but like you have probably noticed, we have a problem with the server, we expect to get it fixed by tomorrow, please be patient. I know you have gone through a lot with this Service, but we really seem to have BAD luck. I can not explain to you what exactly happend, since I do not know it yet either... We have bad and good news for you today :(! The bad one is that another bug surfaced, a more severe one actually. The good one is though, that after a few hours of serious checking we have found the problem and it seems to be working again. This time more stats were affected though! The only ones that are ok are the General, Basic, Hour stats and the last 5 IP stats. The Hour Stats will look wrong, since the TimeZone settings were 'broken' by that bug too. But no stats will actually be lost there! To get the rest exact again, you should go here! This script will reset all the affected stats! Before going there, you should check if your stats are affected, best place to see that is by checking the system stats. If those have weird hit numbers, your trakker has the bug. We are very sorry for all this trouble. Because of this, we will very probably enhance the trakker a lot in the next week or two. Including some, or maybe even all options that only GOLD should have had. You now will see multiple Zeros in your referer log if you do not use it! That is NOT a bug ;). We have great news for you! No more Image problems! We have changed our code and therefor all of the images will be fetched from our server! Except those useing the Other-Image option! You can continue using your old code, it'll still work. We have found the problem. Most trakkers will probably have the problem already. It was caused by a small difference in how C handles the datafiles apposed to perl. Anyone who has got all Continues Referers set will not have this problem! The rest will have it. We have fixed the problem for you, so it won't happen again. You will have to reset some stats which were affected though! These are: Country, Weekday and day of Month stats. The rest of them should be ok. If you have used Continues Referers, they were 'removed' while fixing this problem. This means you'll have to enter them again. We have some serious problems in two stats sections: Stats by Day-of-Week and Stats by Countries. We are looking into those problems. They were probably caused by a bug in our new trakking software which didn't show up in our 4 day test-run! Sorry for this, we hope to get it fixed soon! Sorry for the problem with the Hits this Month stats! We made a mistake when updating the scripts last time. It now works again. No data was lost. We just changed the Total Browser Stats to Total Net-Trak Stats! This page now also shows System statistics and hopefully soon Country stats! You now can reset your password by yourself by going to http://net-trak.netrail.net/cgi-bin/reset-password.cgi! The GOLD service is still heavily under construction and we will probably not set it up until we get at least some advertisment revenue from this page. Pleae keep the GOLD Comments coming in!
