Excellent work, Pagemaker! I love Incognito. The musicians are wonderful, Maysa is a goddess and Bluey is a genius! Thanks for your music. I LOVE the Positivity album. 100 and rising is just as great, esp. I Hear Your Name, (that song is sooo intense). Beneath the Surface has a different sound but I also absolutely love it (esp. Shade of Blue.) Chris Ballin's voice puts me in a trance everytime. I hope I can watch the band live here in Manila before Maysa changes her mind about staying with the band (like N'dea of BNH.) Hi Kim, I see u also signed the G-book. Hi to all Incognito fans....

This is an absolutely fabulous page for Incognito! As a big fan of acid jazz, and especially Incognito, I am glad that someone had created such a cool page. Maysa has one of the most beautiful voices I have ever heard, and Bluey is a genius. Are there any tour dates currently set for the US (Ohio, in particular)?

Bluey, I just wanted to personally thank you for your consistent great work. With each new album I think its the best until the next one comes along. Incognito is the only group that I can make such a statement about and truly mean it. We have been waiting for your return to Los Angeles for almost 2 years now, when might you come back to the west coast? Lastly, is it at all possible to purchase the "Blue's Mood" cd yet? Once again thank you for providing us with such GREAT MUSIC!!! Huge Fan, Cornell

Hallo incognito,
I am a drummer and i am interested in your uncredible grooves. Is it possible to send me some transcriptions. In my band TABOO we play some songs of your latest albums: Change, pieces of a dream, still a friend of mine, don't you worry...

It would be great, if you would e-mail or send me the original grooves some of your songs. What do you think about a master-class in our german drum-school in stuttgart? I think it would be a great part. We have a big drum school in stuttgart wiht about of 160 drummers. In the past, we had a lot of famous drummers in our school: Dave Weckl, John Riley, Dom Famularo, Walfrede Reyes, Rene Creemers and so on. Maybe we can connect a master-class while your next tour. I hope you will play in stuttgart soon again. And this would be a good oportunity, I think.

It would be great, if you give me an answer by e-mail or by post-mail. Here my adress: Wolfgang Seltenreich, Heidestrasse 31, 70469 Stuttgart, Germany, Fax: 0711/856105

Thanks a lot.

Great Site! I love it.
Incognito bring me "Everyday" in a better mode when i listen to there groove. In hard times the helped me to stay "Positivity" and in good times the make me "Smile".
And so my "Inside Life" is always "Still a friend of mine" :-)
So friends out there - fight for "Better Days" and keep on grooving.
Peace

Finally!!! I found my FAVORITE group on the web!!! I am so excited!! Let me just say that I have a five disc CD player and the hardest decision is deciding which 5 of their CD's to keep on! Then, I have to decide which songs to hear first!! I can't believe that I actually attempted to make a "Best of Incognito" tape. Needless to say, that turned into several tapes... I am undoubtedly one of their greatest fans and would love the opportunity to see this remarkable group. Any information on upcoming tours? I live in Michigan, but will travel to see them if necessary! I know that Maysa is touring, and I do love her, but I would love to see the entire band. They are truly a unique band with a unique sound collaborating soul, jazz, and funk. The outcome is remarkable and I only hope that they continue to make such wonderful music. "Bluey", you are a genious. Keep up those artistic skills that you have been so blessed with. "Maysa", you are a queen. Your voice is as sweet as an angel. Keep singing!! The band is awsome. Much love to all. Please e-mail me with any info on the band, (including tour dates, and fan club info). Great web site!! Thanks!! -N.S.

In country where I live, there is problem find something by Incognito, so, if someone can send me an adress (electronic) where I could find Incognito's songs in MP3 format, I would be really glad, especcially if it was singles. Thanx!!! (I'm not trying to break copyright law, but I want that records, but I can't get them)

Incognito's sound is simply refreshing, uplifting, & down right slamming. I often hear people say that Maysa Leaks gives Incognito that extra "umph" that makes them as good as they are. Although, Maysa is an extremely talented songstress and is very deserving of the accolades she receives, Bluey's Incognito band is as sound as they come. Incognito's instrumentals tracks are solid & timeless. Cuts like "she wears black, Sketches In The Dark, Soho, Journey Into Sunlight, barumba, millenium, & Magnetic Ocean are a few examples of Incognito's depth and the vibes from Pamela Anderson(Everyday), Linda Muriel(Inside Life), Jocelyn Brown (Always There), Chyna(Crazy For You), Joy Malcolm are of equal substance... that's what makes Incognito so great, they are truely a team... a group of talented individuals. In fact their sound is bigger than any one of them alone, for that matter bigger than all of them together. Their sound is a gift from our creator. Enjoy...

Hello fellow Incognito fans!!! I think this is my third or fourth entry in the Incognito guestbook...I just can't stay away! I also can't stay away from the new album, "Beneath the Surface." I'm sure many of you will agree it's a highly superior work...from the fresh, cool jazz of the title tune; to the silky Roberta Flack-type groove of "Shade of Blue"; to the driving forces of "Without You" and "Out of the Storm"; to the sheer pop brilliance of "All That You Want Me to Be"...the vibes just don't stop!!! The only minor snag I've found in the disc is in "Fountain of Life"...GREAT song, but, is it just me, or does Imani sound distractingly like N'Dea Davenport from Brand New Heavies? And with Maysa back on board, why is another female vocalist, even for just one song, even necessary? If Bluey just HAD to have another female singer attached to the project, I personally miss Pam Anderson ("Roots," "Everyday," "Jump to My Love") like CRAZY! Her soulful inflections and chilling vibratos made for some damn good vocals on some damn fine Incognito songs. But anyway, "Fountain" is still a great tune, and besides "Dark Side of the Cog"'s slightly irritating repetition, "Beneath the Surface" is an album that simply doesn't step wrong! By the way, I am a singer/songwriter/musician myself, currently at work on some demos of original tunes, and I am absolutely STARVING for fellow musician chat with anyone into a band and genre as great as Incognito and their own brand of jazz/funk/soul. So if anything I've said struck a chord with you, please, LET'S KEEP IN TOUCH!!! Peace and love, GoateeJazz

Great site. I don't think your mail option works. I wanted to ask you if you've heard of Jennifer Brown. I recently picked up a cassette of hers in Malaysia but cannot find the CD here in Canada. It was recorded in Stokholm. Is she Swedish? Can I order her CD, Giving You the Best, from Sweden??

I've never been that into incognito but I bought a compilation cd with still a friend of mine on it. It was just so cool, it had nice words a nice tune and the most important thing a funky bass line.

I first heard of Incognito when my sax teacher lent me a copy of 'Tribes, vibes and scribes'. I have since bought 'Positivity' and a couple of singles. I enjoyed the instrumentals on the CD's but feel that there could be less moog on the next CD's and more trombone, flugelhorn, sousaphone, cor anglais, bassoon, mandolin, harpsichord, banjo, treble recorder, church organ, triangle, bongo, conga, piccolo, kettle drum, oil drum and sax solos. Keep up the good work funk masters!

For anyone outside of the States with a copy of "Beneath the Surface," I must break some saddening news for you: the American release of the CD contains the best song on the new album! "All That You Want Me to Be" has everything you could ask for out of an Incognito tune: first and foremost, Maysa's flawless diva vocals, a funky hip-hop rhythm, a slick vibraphone/trumpet solo, and mesmerizing vocal harmonies! The other American bonus cut, "Sunchild," is a fine instrumental, but "All That You Want" stands out as "Beneath the Surface"'s MAIN JAM!!! If this song doesn't hit big on urban and pop radio, then I know there is absolutely no justice in the music business. Hope I didn't make anybody overseas jealous or feeling cheated for having missed such a gem of a tune, but if you can get your hands on an American copy, trust me, "All That You Want Me to Be" will prove to be well worth the import price!!! Must run for now...and listen to that song again!

I first discoverd your music about two years ago on our local jazz station here in Philadelphia Pa., WJJZ 106.1 F.M. at about 3:am in the morning "Deep Waters".
Jumping up to record it as I always did at this unGodley hour of the morning,It took my whole being to another place. I had to have this CD at whatever the coast. Since then I have collected three of your groups CD. I also have tried to get Masa here in the states and was informed that it had not gotten here yet. That was last summer, but still got it on tape from the radio station. I would just love to see this group in as I am a advent music listener. I really like to hear music from London. It has a very 60's kind of sound. Keep up the excellent flow to the states. thank you.

Incognito is one of my favorite groups because of their unique style of jazz. they use string instruments like violins and harps which is not usually used in traditional jazz. I think that Bluey should get all of the vocalist he used in the previous albums and make the jazz album of the century!

Hi everyone, from Atlanta this morning on my way to work I was listening to a live interview of Incognito. Jean Bluey and MASA talked about how Babyface's music sounds the same they stated that it was very commercialized and assembly lined oriented. I tell it just does something spritual to you when you hear or see the band perform whether it's tv or radio. You just can't explain it. Peaceeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!! HotAlanta Baby!!!!!!!! sound the same, and that Babyface

Anyone who lives in Chicago and was watching Channel 9's morning show on Thursday Jan. 23 was in for a real treat: Incognito performing live!!! Actually, it was just Bluey and Maysa, but it was fantastic!!! Before each commercial, when they show the time and temperature in Chicago, they'd cut to Incognito performing a snippet of a song. They went through "Colibri," "Still a Friend of Mine," and "Beneath the Surface," and trust me, "Always There" takes on a new life when sung by Maysa accompanied only by acoustic guitar!!! Then when it was time to do an entire song, they did a flawless version of "Misunderstood" from their fabulous new release. They also chatted a little before the tune, and Bluey told us that "Beneath the Surface" as an album is a tribute to R&B like it used to be. Maysa was very sweet and shy as she explained how she came to join the group by auditioning over the phone. It was great to see Incognito get such good publicity! God knows they deserve it! I frantically called the station after the show, but they weren't performing live anywhere that night, sadly. But seeing a rare TV appearance like that will tide me over for some time to come!

Cool, cool web site to highlight a very cool group! I "discovered" this site quite by accident... a friend sent me a selection of Incognito songs on tape along with some others...he forgot to write "Incognito" on the tape & I had no idea who it was. I searched the web for one of the song titles, and found this web page in the process. This guest book is wonderful; it's great to read everyone's comments & truly awesome to know that people around the WORLD are grooving to this sound. Does anyone have the lyrics to "Step Into My Life"; the first cut on the U.S. "Positivity" CD? Would love it if someone would e-mail them to me (the song isn't listed on the discography here). Also, I'd love recommendations of other groups that Incognito fans like; I'm thrilled by the idea that there's other fantastic music like this that I haven't "discovered" yet!

Hi,

I'm very pleased to see a page of my favorite band on the internet. The thing I'm looking for is the chords of all their songs because I play in a band and would like to play their music. Is it maybe possible to find that out. I've tried some of them myself but it's pretty difficult because of the Fender Rhodes sound that takes away the clearness of the tones. You would do me a big favor if you could get me the chords. Thank's anyway

I've seen the band three times in concert and they are one of my favourite jazz/funk bands today. I love the latest album (esp. 'misunderstood') but for me the masterpiece so far is positivity (check out 'deep waters' and 'talkin' loud). Fantastic uplifting music - God bless Bluey.

I live in England and am a Jazz/Funk musician
myself and have seen Incongnito three times now. 'Beneath the surface' is well produced and very tight and I love it but for me - Positivity is the masterpiece so far. That album has everything (check out 'deep waters' and 'talkin' loud'). If you haven't seen them in concert then when the chance comes up then try your best to.

Hello all!!! Just heard the latest
Incognito release...and it's smashing!
So glad Maysa's back (though I loved,
Loved, LOVED her solo release!). The
new album is fantastic...got the import
from my local Tower Records, as it's not
out here in the states yet. Title track
and "Labour of Love" are my faves so far
but I'm sure that will change on a
regular basis! Don't like it quite as
much as "Positivity" though...that's
still Bluey's masterpiece in my opinion!
Anyway, off for now...feel free to
contact me with any news on Bluey and
the gang. I saw them in concert once
and I can't wait to repeat the
experience. Happy listening everybody!

Superb site along with SUPERB band. I jumped on the InCogNito wagon a few years ago and plan to groove with them as long as they produce. It's all good and of high quality. Being a bassist and keyboardist, I had to try and duplicate their grooves. My local band plays a few of their tunes but tis no one like them. They are all underated. My favorite Jazz/Funk group.

Bepp, great idea to use a form for this guestbook! It's getting pretty huge these days.
Incognito are, and have always been, a totally

slammin'

posse. I'll be seeing Bluey and his crew on December 14th, which is their last date in Tokyo, at the same venue as last year. They were wicked then, but I suspect they'll be even wickeder (?) this time with Maysa back in the fold.

If there weren't any of INCOGNITO's music, my days would be really, I mean really borring. Please, inform them that we would like to have here in Slovenia, too. I've seen their concert in Trieste, Italy and waiting to see them in Ljubljana !

As a big Incognito Fan since many years I would like to see the band on a concert here in the US. I've seen these guys once in Germany and it was just great! Does anybody have information about a US-tour from Incognito? Please feel free to EM me, also if you just want to chat about the great music.. Mike

I'm a bass guitar player in a band called P Syndicate ( based in Manila, Philippines) and I can truly say that Randy Hope Taylor is one BAD CAT! The way he holds the groove is ONE of the reasons why we musicians in the Philippines agree that Incognito's the finest band around. My band do some covers ( such as Everyday, Pieces of a dream etc.) and we really enjoy doing them. More Power.

You did really good job! Excellent! I sometimes tried to get information about Incognito by magazines or record shops, I could not. I didn't know that they released the new album. I wish I could get it here! There are few acid jazz CDs in America I can get. If someone know how to get acid jazz CDs, please contact me. I will really appreciate it. Anyway, thanks for you hard work!
