Intel All the large players in the computer industry have a
Web site. The site of premier chip-maker, Intel, must
rank near the top of these sites. It's constantly
changing and it offers something for all sorts of people.
There's the Connected PC for home users, the latest
newsgroups for processor techheads, and background
information, projects and activities for schools. Gateway 2000 Hats off to Gateway 2000 for its phenomenally good
site. Even if you don't own a Gateway PC, you'll find
useful information and lots to enjoy. If you're wanting
to buy a computer, Gateway's online configure-your-own
option is great. Choose a base model and check out the
price. Then add all the extras you want and you'll
receive a summary including the reconfigured price. Dell The best thing about Dell's site is the thorough
descriptions of each model the company sells, right down
to the individual components. If you're thinking of
buying a computer by phone, then the more you know about
it up front, the better, and this site will help you with
that. On the whole, though, a disappointing site from a
company that exists by mail order. Jasc If you've been reading PC User for more than a couple
of months, you're likely to have heard at least one of
our authors mentioning Jasc's Paint Shop Pro, one of our
all-time favourite shareware products. Paint Shop Pro's
home on the Web includes shareware downloads for all of
Jasc's products, upgrade patches, useful tips for using
graphics in Web pages, and great links for Web page
creation. Games publishersSee also our reviews of
