Settings - File Operations - Subfolders
When subfolders are included in a file operation, they can be handled in one of four basic ways in Probe. More information on this is available under Subfolder Handling.
The dialog in fig 1 sets the default choice for subfolder handling. Click the items of the dialog to jump to their help texts.
NOTE: In the dialogs that are shown before starting a file operation, the subfolder setting is usually available.

When selected, this option causes subfolders to be copied without any of their contents included. As a result, only files in the base folder of the operation are included in the file operation.
When selected, this option causes all files and all subfolders of the base folder of the file operation to be included. This setting is used when copying entire folder structures.
This option is implicit in file managers such as MS Explorer.
The contents of subfolders is included depending on the selection status of individual items within it. This makes it possible to do a file operation including many subfolders, but only include a subset of all files within those subfolders in the operation.
A file filter is a file criterion that can be used to display only files matching the criterion in a Folder Browser. The file filter can also be applied on the subfolders of a file operation. In that case, only the subfolder contents that matches the file filter criterion is included in the operation.
Use selections/filters in nested VDrives
Usually when a compressed archive is included in a file operation operation, we want the entire archive to be included in the operation. That is the case when this option is cleared.
Sometimes we may want to copy only a subset of all files within a number of compressed archives. In other words, from a number of compressed archives, we only want to copy a subset of files. In that kind of situation, this setting should be checked.
