File operation in separate thread

With this option set, Probe will launch all file operations in separate threads of execution. As a result, Probe may be as usual while the operation is in progress.

Clearing this option will force Probe to wait until a file operation completes before entering a responsive state again.

Silent mode (Operate without dialogs)

Usually when Probe encounters a problem, or want to display some notification, this is done in a dialog, and the operation cannot continue until the user responds.

In silent mode, all such dialogs are suppressed and the file operation will not pause for input until completed.

To verify the success of a file operation in silent mode, use the Log Window.

Handle files in ... order

This decides the order within a file operation the that files are handled. There are three possibilities:

This setting can prove valuable when the files being copied/moved are immediately processed on the target side, and the order of the processing of the files matters.

NOTE: Using the Don't care setting is slightly faster when handling many files, since a sorting step is eliminated.
