Welcome
to the city of Mohenjo-Daro.
Our great city
lies near the west bank of the Indus River–King River,
giver of life. Surrounded by fertile fields, we are home to
about 40,000 people.
We are
proud to be part of a vast cultural and trading confederacy,
linked to other great cities in the Indus
Valley by:
- a mutual
language
- common
culture
- shared
spiritual beliefs
- strong
economic ties
We of
the Indus Valley make up the world’s largest urban civilization,
consisting of some 1,500 cities, towns, and villages. Our
confederacy covers 400,000 square miles, twice the area controlled
by the empires of either Sumer
or Egypt.
Whether
you’re a first-time visitor or a regular traveler to
Mohenjo-Daro, you’re sure to find that our city offers
every comfort and convenience you might desire. Stay a week
