NEW FIXED ROOM
Select the NEW FIXED ROOM icon to draw a complete finished room in a plan view

The new fixed room function draws the room in a plan view, extending if necessary the adjacent partitions, places the name centrally and shows both dimensions as required. OPENINGS and DOORS of all types can be cut in the room internal walls later.

Once you have selected the new fixed room icon, move the cursor into the corner area where you want the room to come from ( read the NOTE below )
click the left mouse button and the rooms dialogue box will appear with two numbers showing the maximum amount of space left for the room

NOTE
Unlike most functions, when you click the New Fixed Room icon very little happens (only ôRoomö will show as the drawing tool in use, in the bottom right corner of the screen), until you place the cursor in the area of the new Fixed Room and click the left mouse button.( this function senses the distance horizontally and vertically for the input dialogue box - so the position you click can in some cases be important - especially not horizontally or vertically in line with a doorway). The Room Dialogue Box will then appear.

WARNING
If using the New Fixed Room function where you have any angled partitions or external walls, always mark near a horizontal or vertical (on screen ) wall . The function will not work correctly, if marked near an angled wall

HINT Best if you work your way round the house putting all the rooms in, in some sort of order, perhaps clockwise.

NEW FIXED ROOM DIALOGUE BOX
Type in the name of the room and tab down to Size Horizontal, which shows the maximum size left for a room, input your sizes, tab and repeat for Vertical Size - if you leave the sizes as shown, you will still get a room - handy for the corner room of a row of rooms.

HINT
Think before you close the dialogue box, whether you want the dimensions to show, as it is far easier to do it correctly now, than change later.

NOTE
The dimension offset distance (internal offset) and the text size can be changed permanently in CONFIGURE DIMENSIONS also try INTERNAL WALLS
