How to change the protection level

The anti-virus protection of your computer is provided based on the selected protection level. The default protection level is Recommended. The parameters of this default protection level match the recommendations of Kaspersky Lab experts. You may increase or decrease the extent of your anti-virus protection, by simply changing the protection level.

In order to change the real-time protection level:

Click Configure Real-Time Protection in the left section of the Settings tab or modify settings in the status area of the Protection tab.
When the Real-Time Protection settings dialog box opens, select the protection level using a slider. By changing the protection level, you change the balance between the speed of the scan and the number of objects to be scanned. The fewer objects that are scanned the faster the scan will be.

In order to change the on-demand scan level:

Click modify settings in the right section of the Settings tab or Configure On-Demand Scan in the left section of the tab.
In the On-Demand Scan settings window that will open after you click the above link, select a desired scan level by moving the Scan level slider up or down.
