5.1 Top 10
Scores |
|
|
|
The Records in
Tilerama are stored in the same files described in the topic 3.2;
each board, puzzle or campaign have its own 'top 10 scores'
list. Besides, records are managed depending on the Game
Mode selected:
- In 'Single Games'
:
If you're using a board file
with random IP, your score
(time and moves needed to solve the puzzle) will be
compared with the Top 10 Scores of the Board File,
and the name defined in the general
options will be included in the corresponding category
('Fastest Times' or 'Fewest Moves') of this file. Of
course, you have to beat any of the Top 10 Scores to be
included in that list.
If you're using a puzzle file
with its IP and OP
(limitations doesn't matter
in the records), your score will be compared with the Top
10 Scores of the Puzzle File, and the name defined
in the general options will
be included in the corresponding category ('Fastest Times'
or 'Fewest Moves') of this file.
- In 'Games
Against Computer' :
In this case your score will be also compared with the
records of the Board File used, but they aren't the
same of the described in 'Single Games' records. When both
players (you and the computer) have been solved the
puzzle, the difference of scores will be used to
compare (and include if required) in the Top 10 Scores of
this file, in two categories : 'Highest Time Difference'
and 'Highest Moves Difference'. This list is not only
different from the list used in the 'Single Game'; there's
a 'Top 10 Scores' list for every combination of
computer's speed and accuracy selected.
- In 'Campaign
Games' :
You have to complete the campaign to have the possibility
of achieve a position in the Records. The addition of
seconds and moves needed to complete the campaign will be
used to compare with
the Top 10 Scores of the Campaign
File, and the name defined in the general
options will be included in the corresponding category
('Fastest Total Times' or 'Fewest Total Moves') of this
file.
You can see the Top 10 Scores
of the actual Game File and Game
Mode : To open the 'Top 10 Scores' window, you have to press the
Info button of the menu bar (see topic 2.1)
and then the Records button of
the information menu, or directly press the F8
key. The Figure 34 shows an
example of this
window:

|
|
In this window you can see the Top 10
Scores (in two categories) that will be used to compare with
your score, if you solve the actual board, puzzle or campaign.
At the bottom is indicated the name of the file used (the
board 'Classic A x3' in this example).
The Figure 35 shows another example of this window:

As you can see, when the game
mode 'Against Computer' is selected, the 'Top 10 Scores'
window is different. The categories are 'Highest Moves and
Time Difference' instead of 'Fastest Times and Fewest Moves'.
Besides, at the bottom is indicated not only the board file,
but also the computer's speed and accuracy selected.

5.2 Players' Log
Files |
|
|
|
Tilerama generates a
text file every time that a new player's name is introduced in
the general options window. This
text file, with the same name of the player, is stored in the
'Players' folder of the installation directory of Tilerama.
These files are called 'Log Files'. Almost all player's events
are included in their log files, such as games
played (including game mode and file) and results (even if the
puzzle isn't solved).
These files can grow quickly if you play the game very often.
Because of this, the update of log files is optional. You can
disable this feature in the general
options window. Note that log files are not updated
constantly, only when the application is terminated, or when
the actual player is changed.
