Installing AbiWord under Windows
Welcome to the user community of AbiWord!
The latest version of AbiWord (0.7.12) can be installed on any system
running Windows 95, 98 or NT4.0+ with an INTEL compatible processor.
The installation processe under Windows is very simple.

Download AbiWord and install the setup file (setup.exe, 4166 KB) by
double clicking on it.

When you do this, it will install AbiWord and its system files into the
directory Program Files on your hard disk. You can change the directory
if you wish.

A program group will be also added to the start menu, and as a short
cut on your desktop.

Association with the .abw files will not be made until you use AbiWord
for the first time.

Uninstalling AbiWord under Windows

Click on the Install/Remove Software icon in the Control panel

Select the AbiWord program and click on the Remove button

You will be asked if you want to remove Abiword. Click on Yes.

A message will inform you that AbiWord was removed.
