Columns in AbiWord

It is possible to lay out a long document in columns to improve its legibility. AbiWord is able to manage up to three columns on a same page. The distribution of the text between the various columns is managed automatically by AbiWord: if a column is complete, the text continues in the top of the following column.

By default, the "single column" mode is activated during the launching of AbiWord. To define columns, position the section to transform or to select the text to lay out in column and then click on the " Columns " icon of the Standard toolbar.

  1. The icon Une colonneto define one column
  2. The icon Deux colonnesto define two columns
  3. The icon Trois colonnesto define three columns

To increase or reduce the space between two columns, click on the " strokes of columns "(?????) zone in the rule to make them move.
