About This Book

OpenDoc is a set of shared libraries that you can use to develop editors and viewers for compound documents, which are single documents containing multiple data types, each presented and edited by its own software.

This book introduces OpenDoc concepts and describes the design and coding procedures for creating part handlers for the following platforms: OS/2 Warp Connect, Windows NT, Windows 95, and AIX environments. Part handlers include both part editors and part viewers. Part handlers are similar to conventional applications in that they can be used to create, edit and view parts of a particular kind (for example, graphics or text). Part viewers, on the other hand, can only display the parts.
