[╣] These two standards will merge in 1996. Yes - the World Time Clock knows that too...
This application is useful when planning international telephone calls, Internet chats, or video conferencing times.
The Conference Time function allows you to ask the question:
At what LOCAL time should I call city X to reach it at its
time Y?
(DST is taken into account, so you must also give the date.)
Several features allow you to customize the clock for your particular location and needs.
Although a large number of cities are already pre-programmed,
you can define and position up to nine custom city labels yourself.
The World Time Clock offers a series of five multimedia alarms with which you can activate a WAV sound, a MIDI sequence, an AVI video clip, or your CD player at preset times.
You may use the Internet or your modem to synchronize your system clock and calendar to the
Atomic Time Generator at the United States Naval Observatory, Washington, DC (Internet) or
the National Institute of Standards and Technology in Denver, Colorado (Modem).
The ID LOGIC® World Time Clock for MS Windows requires the following:
- IBM PC compatible machine;
- MS Windows Version 3.1 or later;
- Microsoft (or compatible) mouse;
- Display minimum: 540x480 x 256 colors (64k colors preferred);
- A modem or a Winsock Internet connection to use the Synchronization features.
The ID LOGIC® World Time Clock made it's first appearance (in
rudimentary form) in the ID LOGIC® Shortwave Simulator for Windows
which simulates the shortwave receiver of the (near) future which
will permit the automatic scanning for a station by name, language,
schedule and other attributes.
By popular demand, the World Time Clock was made into a stand-alone application.
The ID LOGIC® SW Simulator can be downloaded by clicking
HERE
or see our List of FTP Mirrors.
It contains the schedules of the BBC World Service, the VoA,
and most of the other largest international shortwave broadcasters.
ALL SCHEDULES ARE PROVIDED BY THE BROADCASTERS THEMSELVES.
You may want to read this Press Release

You can stretch our main programs to match your screen resolution:
Each can be called to expand their graphics to match the resolution of your screen.
This is done simply by adding a "/S" option switch after the name of the program in the command line. (For example: WT /S, or WT.EXE /S)
Here are the steps to follow in Windows95 to permanently place this switch in the command line of a shortcut:
- Click the Start key
- Click Find/Files or Folders...
- Click the Advanced, tab
- In the Of type windows, select Shortcut
- In the Containing text, enter the filename of the program (e.g., WT.EXE)
- Click Find Now
- Hopefully you'll find at least one file listed in the window below
- RIGHT-CLICK on the program icon (World Time) on the left in the list
- Click Properties
- Click the Shortcut tab
- Click the Target window and press the right arrow key until you get to the very end of the entry
- Type a space and /s (insert it AFTER the target filename's LAST QUOTE)
- Click OK
- Close the find file form
- You're done.
If the find function found more than one file, you may repeat the procedure steps 8-13 for each listed shortcut.
By the way, this is a function of OUR programs - not Windows, so it will not work with other peoples' programs...
