El pico enorme y curvado hacia abajo---usado para sondear madrigueras de cangrejos-- identifica a este limφcola de gran porte, incluso a distancia. Es mßs grande que el Zarapito Trinador, con el pico mßs largo, pero no tiene las bandas de la cabeza de Θste. Tama±o: 50-65 cm.; peso: 493-951 g. Audio (B. Beck). Anida en el centro de AmΘrica del Norte, invernando en la costa del Pacφfico y el golfo de MΘxico de Estados Unidos y MΘxico. Accidental en Puerto Rico.
