A medium-sized parakeet, green above and yellow-green below, with an orange forehead. The top of the head is bright blue and it has an orange eye ring (faded in the museum specimen above). Length: 23-25 cm.; weight: 68-80 g. Audio (M. Oberle). Native to the lowlands of western Mexico and Central America. Introduced to Puerto Rico, but locally common chiefly on the northeastern coast. Las Cabezas de San Juan Nature Reserve and the Colinas del Yunque urbanization on PR 191 currently are regular locations to find this species.

TAXONOMY: PSITTACIFORMES; PSITTACIDAE; Arinae. Also called Orange-fronted Conure.
