: Fact: processed cheese has great anti cancer properties (apparently) On the same basis (and I stress this is merely an example and NOT a health warning) the combination of bacon and coffee creates a very potent carcinogen. The fact is that everything we put into our bodies will have some effect. And the experiments which some claim to be a good indicator of cancer causing properties (the Ames test-it uses genetically modified bacteria, like man urgh ;-]) are scientifically a little dodgy.

: Oh and brussel sprouts (and especially brocolli) give you wind. So there

Is wind so bad ?

I wasn't advocating living on Brussels Sprouts and Red Wine, and I thought I alluded to that in the last paragraph. Apologies for the confusion.

To the Cheese : allegedly, most cheese is now made with a rennet enzyme produced by genetically engineered bacteria. So while it may have anti-cancer properties, nobody knows what minute quantities of other "ingredients" are being included courtesy of the mutant bacteria.

Check out the Tryptophan story to see what happened when one particular Bacteria decided to fight back.
