I liked the McDLT...wish they'd bring it back!

JM, the McDLT was one of the Arches' better burgers. I ordered it a lot when it came out back in '85. I know the styrofoam controversy killed it but now that industry has found a way to recycle this I don't see why they couldn't return it to the menu.

I also miss the Texas Homestyle with its mixed-in pepper and double-shot of mustard. It also had the traditional lettuce and tomato instead of that mustard-mayo-ketchup "secret sauce" mix common on their other burgers.

As for BK, lately I've been disappointed in their food quality and service. Or at least the 2 BK locations I've been to recently: The one in the new Grapevine Mills outlet mall served me a cold burger, and I had to get that changed for a hot one. They are also $2 higher on their food than at the locations outside. The hot burger wasn't much better. The Bedford BK has served me more than one cold burger, and the last several times I've been there the burger and fries haven't been great. The efficiency has also slacked severely, and that was also a surprise.

Actually these days I seldom eat at McD's because lately their burgers haven't been anything to sing about, although their fries are still very good. I like Whataburger. They have improved their burgers to the way they used to be, although they are high priced for a fast food joint. I also like Burger Street (a local Texas chain). Wendy's sucks here, at least their burgers do.

To close this, I'm hoping that McDonald's will do something in the way of offering new products with more pizazz. Their core menu hasn't changed in over 25 years, and the Arch Deluxe line is not the answer. And I agree. Something needs to be done about the efficiency too. The last time I was at the Pipeline Road (Hurst, TX) location, it took over 15 minutes to order, purchase, and receive my food, which is unacceptable in fast food. I saw the employee at the fries station work at the speed of a valium addict (actually the valium addict would be faster). And the burger wasn't real great. I think everyone in that organization needs to get involved in overhauling those procedures.

Bye for now.

Mike
